About Arizona Women of Leather
Our Mission
Arizona Women of Leather exists to build and strengthen sisterhood within the leather and kink community. We create a welcoming, empowering space for women and femme-identifying individuals to explore, learn, and grow together.
We believe in:
- Community – Creating genuine connection and lasting bonds
- Education – Sharing knowledge and building confidence
- Inclusivity – Welcoming all who identify with femininity
- Empowerment – Supporting each member’s personal journey
- Integrity – Honoring leather tradition while evolving with our community
Our Story
Arizona Women of Leather was originally founded in the early 2000s by women passionate about creating space for sisterhood in Phoenix’s leather scene. For years, AWOL thrived as a cornerstone of the community, hosting events, building connections, and mentoring countless members.
After a period of dormancy, a new generation has picked up the torch. Today’s AWOL honors that legacy while forging a fresh path—with some original founding members standing alongside new leaders, blending decades of wisdom with modern energy.
We’re not just reviving a group. We’re continuing a tradition.
Who We Welcome
AWOL is open to anyone who identifies with femininity and is interested in the leather lifestyle. This includes cis women, trans women, and femme-leaning nonbinary individuals.
Whether you’re brand new to kink, actively exploring, or deeply experienced in leather culture—if you’re seeking sisterhood, you belong here.
Our Partnership with AMOL
We’re proud to partner with Arizona Men of Leather (AMOL), our brother organization. Together, we host joint events, support each other’s missions, and work to strengthen Arizona’s leather community as a whole. Our collaboration reflects our commitment to building bridges and fostering an integrated, vibrant scene.
